Gosh..

I really have a message for two of my "good" colleagues:

GET OFF YOUR MORAL HIGH HORSE

I almost puked when the Vice-Dean asked me to decide what "tokens of appreciation" are suitable for them. In retrospect, two fully-sized hot-air balloons for them to inflate , sufficient for Richard Branson to spin around the universe, would be rightfully appropriate.

Going to the Silk Road!

Sigh my SGH medicine posting has come and gone by ... well yeah apart from the grilling sessions by a certain crater-faced medical oncologist, it was fairly pleasant and the end-of-posting test went quite well, much better than those experienced in O&G and Ortho(shudders)
I am still very much undecided as to my choice of HO posting ... SGH is familiar ground but I don't particularly like the working environment v.s. TTSH -- probably I was bred in the cosy and gentle environment of Geriatric Medicine of TTSH, which gave me a superb impression of the doctors and their mild-mannered ways. My initial impression of SGH was from its surgical side, where I witnessed surgeons shouting at students right in front of patients in the clinic rooms. But oh oh caveat .. Prof London Ooi is such a nice guy.. can't generalise i guess=) Anyhow, I just hope that the MBBS will sail past smoothly (although i do know that's wishful thinking based on previous exams' experience) and I can go to the Silk Road to seek nirvana =)

My first time flying Malaysia Airlines long-haul besides the usual Singapore-Kuala Lumpur rigmarole every Chinese New Year/Qing Ming... it was the next best and cheapest option besides Royal Brunei and (urgh)China Eastern Airlines, and reviews of MAS have been raving..
