It's Good to be Back !!

After a really long hiatus ( 4 months ) of not blogging , I must say that I have to start blogging with a veangence !!

The last 4 weeks of Paeds went ok .. as usual , like any other posting , the second half of the posting usually goes a lot faster because the learning curve is more or less plateau-ing off , and we spent less and less time in the wards , and following ppl like Grant Hao into the KK library ( i still never understood why he would faithfully wake up in the death of the morning just to go straight to the KK library without even stepping into the wards )

One of the biggest lows of this posting was getting a really bad throat and a flu, which I believed i got from Chui Ming while in KL. Yes , and I got the exact same version of her throat - totally hoarse and raspy. Usually my bad throats meant endless odynophagia but never a total loss of voice. This time , possibly because of Pei Ling's wonderful recommendation of oral prednisolone feat. diclofenac remix that caused whatever pathogen it was to erode into my vocal cords. Although it is always said that you should let your immunity ward off the infection slowly, all I can say is LABBISH ( a la Prof Yap HK ) -- I succumbed to my temptation to take antibiotics and finally after 1 week + of endless coughing and hoarseness, I popped my wonderful Amoxycillin. WONDERFUL -- my throat cleared within days, and all the phlegm stuck there ( resistant to acetylcysteine ) started pouring out like seminal fluids rushing out of a pubertal male at Carmen Elektra's henparty.

Other than that, KK Hospital was really run-of-the-mill kinda stuff .. nothing too academic like NUH , and the tutors were all nicey-lovely-nice. Of course I was lucky to be taught by the very nice and genial Prof Phua Kong Boo.

Another highlight of the posting was the two Japanese medical misfits , Tomoya aka "Yukiko" and Yoshi aka "Sakura Masako". They look like your average Japanese schoolboy with the hair somewhat like Lion King's. It was the first time that I heard that Japanese girls gave chocolates to guys on Valentine's Day , and guys would have to reciprocate by giving their bodies to the girls. Of course, if you know me well enough, I of course asked how many times "Yukiko" received chocolates. I shall not specify their responses, but goodness all I can say is that Japanese guys definitely keep their equipment well-greased. The only thing I was disgusted with "yukiko" was his weakness for Ah Nao -- it was so freaking obvious that his eyes were all over her , and when he got hold of her name tag , he was virtually smelling it like that creepy Willard guy smelling hair in Charlie's Angels. Other than that , they were very usual Japanese guys -- nothing too foreign for me coz' I have had played host to Japanese ppl many times.
