Post-Psycho Med

This is my first blog entry after a hiatus of 2+ years. It has been a whirlwind year 4 through hectic postings like O and G , but generally the pace felt a lot calmer than M3 with the initial shock of the demands of clinical work ( not to mention the shock on seeing the true colours of certain individuals :-P ).

Anyway that has been done , and my latest posting Psychological Medicine has recently concluded. It was miraculous how I survived the posting test when I had not even clerked a single patient personally. The teaching in TTSH was excellent IMHO -- you got to take your hat off to these tutors who do actually give a damn about medical students.

It was going to be a hectic week for me to finish up all the minor , teeny weeny errands before jetting off to Hong Kong on Monday morning. I never expected to stay so long in HK before Lil' insisted on extending the stay right up to Christmas night. It was miraculous a helpful ZUJI agent helped me monitor the reservation system and snap up the very last seat on the Cathay Pacific X'mas flight home. It was probably miraculous ( but considerably less so considering his Krisflyer elite status ) that Choon Ta managed to get seats on SQ exactly matching our schedule. It's kinda weird that the three of us are flying on three different flights to Hong Kong on Monday morning, but Lil always has her way with these kind of impromptu decisions.

It's even more dreadful that we can't find a SINGLE room in the whole of Hong Kong for Christmas eve, despite nights and nights of searching and calling up various reservation offices in Hong Kong. I can't wait to see Lil's face when we reveal the deathly truth that we will be spending our Christmas eve in a skanky hotel in the Chinese border town of Shenzhen. Hehe ...
